What is L.O.V.E.?
Local Outreach Volunteer Educators are volunteers that work with elementary students in several Savannah-Chatham County's Title I Schools. Title I schools are those where at least 40% of the school's students are from low-income families.
Mentors provide one-on-one tutoring in reading and math to help students who are behind to achieve grade-level goals. Mentors are a caring and dependable presence in the lives of these children. They listen, encourage and help students believe they can learn and succeed in school and life.

L.O.V.E. believes that improving a child's education is the foundation for improving quality of life. Classroom teachers have little opportunity to work one-on-one with students. L.O.V.E. provides this benefit to students.
Our mission is simple but powerful: Helping Children Learn.

Mentor Recruiting for Fall 2022

The Savannah Chatham County Public Schools will be ready for us to return to mentoring shortly after Labor Day! We look forward to returning to the classroom and supporting the at-risk children of Savannah who need us more than ever. Site Directors will be reaching out to past mentors to confirm who is returning. Due to COVID, we realize that we will need to rebuild our ranks.

If you are interested in being a new mentor, please read the "Get Involved" page and fill out the volunteer form.
